Recruitment for the program is based on available slots and is currently CLOSED. As slots become
    available notice will be posted on this site, and applications will be accepted. The following
    requirements are the minimum needed in order for an application to be considered:

  • Be a United States citizen
  • Be a Montgomery County Resident
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Have no felony arrests
  • Have no misdemeanor convictions within the last 5 years
  • Not to have been charged with any domestic violence offense
  • Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Possess a valid Tennessee Drivers License
  • Have acceptable credit
  • Pass the Oral Interview before the Reserve Deputy Board
  • Pass a physical to include a drug screen
  • Meet the psychological standards required by the MCSO pursuant to TCA38-8-106
  • Be able to volunteer and work a minimum of one shift per month
  • Be able to attend the monthly training session
  • Be willing to volunteer for special assignments as needed

As of May 1, 2010 the reserve program is NOT accepting applications.
